The Situation

One of the Middle East’s most celebrated leisure destinations needed to modernise its entry and exit infrastructure. The existing system was unable to handle the complexity of their ticketing model — which included single-day passes, multi-day access packages, group bookings, seasonal memberships, and a tiered VIP programme with dedicated fast-track lanes.

Beyond the logic complexity, the physical throughput challenge was equally demanding. During peak periods — holiday weekends and events — the facility sees tens of thousands of visitors in concentrated entry windows. Any failure, slowdown, or misread at the gates has an immediate, visible impact on guest experience.

The Situation

A large organisation with a significant headcount and multiple business units had reached the limits of their legacy access control infrastructure. Card readers were aging, the attendance data was unreliable, and HR teams were spending considerable manual effort each month compiling attendance reports for individual department heads.

The brief was clear: replace the access control hardware, integrate attendance tracking directly with the new system, and solve the reporting bottleneck permanently — ideally through automation.

What made this project demanding was the scale of the migration, the zero-downtime expectation during the changeover, and the bespoke nature of the reporting requirement. No vendor offered an out-of-the-box module that could distribute individual monthly attendance summaries to each business unit head automatically. This had to be built.

How We Solved It

Access Audit & System Design

Conducted a full audit of existing access points, user groups, and access policies. Designed a new architecture that would support both physical access control and accurate attendance capture from the same hardware layer.

Phased Hardware Migration

Replaced legacy card readers with new biometric and RFID-enabled turnstile systems in a staged rollout — ensuring each phase was fully operational before decommissioning the previous infrastructure.

Custom Attendance Reporting Engine

Designed and built a bespoke software module that aggregates attendance data by business unit, generates formatted monthly reports per department, and automatically dispatches them via email to the corresponding BU heads — on a scheduled basis, without any manual trigger.
